Story Behind the Image: Story 1

This image was taken in Ireland in 2018 and here is the story behind it.

Ireland

I went to Ireland with my mom and sister and we decided to rent a car so that we could travel the countryside at our own pace. I mapped everything out ahead of time and we decided to travel along the wild atlantic way from Cork up to Adare and then back to Cork. Links to all the days of our trip can be found at the end of the article. This particular day was Ireland Day 4 Killarney National Park.

We stayed in the town of Killarney for 2 days because it was the start of the Ring of Kerry tour and we had done this tour back in 2007 on a bus but we didn't really get to explore on our own since the bus was on a schedule. For the first day we planned to explore Killarney National Park which had multiple attractions, one of which was the Muchross House and Gardens. You can visit the National Park website for more information here.

Our first stop was the Muckross House and Grounds which wasn’t too busy when we arrived but it was getting more and more crowded. The house is open for tours, but we chose not to do a tour of the inside due to time but the grounds were beautiful. There was a foggy mist and the grass was full of dew. I was taking photos of the Muckross House when a nice woman stopped and asked if I was getting any good pictures. I said yes I was getting a few and the fog was so pretty. She then walked off down the trail and I would say I definitely captured a good picture of her. If only I had her contact information to send this to her! People can be so kind and friendly especially in Ireland.

This is one of my favorite images that I captured on our trip. I entered it in to the Irish Fair of Minnesota photo contest and was awarded first place.

As promised below are the links to my blogs on our trip to Ireland. I would highly recommend visiting Ireland as it has stunning beauty, friendly people and gorgeous views.
